ASK JOE: What Natural Ways Are There To Combat Nausea?

Q. I suffer from regular nausea, are there any ways of naturally stopping this?
Nausea can be a common side effect to many things, such as the food you eat, the supplements or medication you're taking, or perhaps a sign of an underlying health condition. If you're experiencing nausea for more than a week or two, the best thing to do is check-in with your GP to rule out anything serious.
My first suggestion would be to keep a diary of when you're feeling nauseous, and then take note of any food, medication or supplements you've taken a few hours previous to that. Sometimes taking supplements on an empty stomach can cause nausea, this is why we recommend taking them with a meal (they'll be much better absorbed that way too as your digestive enzymes will be in full effect).
For short term nausea, my go-to food would be ginger. Boil it in warm water, or juice it to get the full effects. Doing this before any meal will make it easier on the stomach. It lights your digestive "fire" and sends signals to your body that it needs to produce digestive enzymes and saliva to break down your food, ready for absorption.
